A very simple game: role cards are randomly distributed for 4 to 8 players, designating a game master, an Insider (traitor), all other players are honest citizens.
The game master must make players guess a word designated on a secret card. During an hourglass of about 5 minutes, players ask him as many questions as possible, to which he only answers "yes / no / I don't know".
BUT the traitor also knows the secret word: it's up to him to subtly guide the group's questions, influence the general thinking, or even give the correct answer.
If the word is not found, the whole team loses. If, on the other hand, the word is discovered, then the question arises: "Is the player who found the correct answer the traitor?"
Players debate by discussing the answers given and their timing, the relevance of the remarks, etc... Then they vote against the player in question.
If it's the traitor and the majority accuse him, the citizens win.
If it's a citizen and the majority accuse him, the traitor wins.
If it's a citizen and he doesn't have the majority, then a second vote takes place to determine who the traitor is.
If the citizens identify him, they win the game without him. If he remains in the shadows, then he wins alone!
A minimalist and wild party game where you'll never know who to trust. For more challenging games, play with free themes or use a variant where there may not be a traitor!
