Winter 453, the Huns reign supreme over half of the known world. The time has come for the great Khan to choose his successor. Embody a general at the head of a Hun camp in search of glory, riches, and power. Mount your fastest horse and set off to conquer riches! Equip yourself effectively, lead successful raids, recruit the best mercenaries, resist scourges, and fill your wagons with treasures to prove to everyone that you are the best leader for the great people of the Huns.
Huns is a dice drafting game. On your turn, you choose one die from the 5 available (blue, red, green, black, or yellow). The dice are values 1 to 3 (with 2 faces of each). With the die chosen on your turn, you will either draw cards or plunder riches.
- If you draw cards, you draw cards from the deck corresponding to the color of the die (Blue: Equipment; Red: Raid; Green: Mercenary; Black: Scourge; Yellow: Treasures) as many as the value of the die. And you will play one of them. Each card is different and each card deck has a different mechanic and theme (Equipment provides passive powers; Scourges are played on opponents to slow them down, etc.)
- If you plunder Riches, you take as many cubes as the value of the chosen die from the pile of the die's color. These riches are used to complete wagons that will earn you points at the end of the game or to place on certain cards like Mercenaries or Scourges.
Each player thus takes a die and when there are no more available (so all dice are played each turn), the 1st player rotates; they re-roll the dice and we start a new turn. The game ends when a pile of riches or a stack of cards is empty.
