Experience a spiritual journey on the island of Shikoku..!
Welcome, travelers, to the Japanese island of Shikoku! In Tokaido Duo, two players discover the smallest of Japan's four islands through a triple spiritual journey. Embody the pilgrim to visit temples, gardens, shorelines, and hot springs. As a merchant, acquire and sell traditional souvenirs. Finally, as the artist, paint magnificent landscapes and then offer them as gifts.
Score points as your characters move to make your journey a unique experience!
Game Rules:
Each turn, roll the dice and choose the one for the character you want to activate.
- The pilgrim travels around the island and visits gardens and torii, collects money at ports, and acquires unique powers by observing the ocean.
- The artist moves between borders and paints as many pictures as the number of characters he meets in his arrival region. If he goes to a region with an attribute matching one of his paintings, he can offer it there!
- The merchant travels the roads from village to village. He collects goods there and sells them in ports to get money.
Your opponent chooses one of the two remaining dice and activates that character, then you use the last one.
A new round then begins, starting with your opponent, then you, and so on. When a player reaches a character's final objective – having visited all torii and gardens for the pilgrim, having offered all his paintings for the artist, having obtained 60 gold pieces for the merchant – the current round is finished and then the points of each player's characters are added up. The player with the most points wins the game!
