In 532, Buddhism arrived in Japan and gradually took its place alongside Shintoism. Prince Shotoku, captivated by this new religion, commissioned several Buddhist monks to erect 8 pagodas (Tajuto) to create a place of pilgrimage.
In the game Tajuto, players embody these Buddhist monks. By activating their action tiles, they can build the floors of the Tajuto, make offerings, or improve their abilities. To do this, they dedicate meditation points that they have accumulated through their constructions. This will then allow them to acquire wisdom, predict the end of constructions, and achievements (objectives) that will be sources of spirituality.
At the end of the game, the monk who has acquired the most spirituality points will be declared the winner!
The main characteristic of Tajuto is to combine action chaining and meditation investment with an original tactile mechanic. Indeed, beyond the action management game, the floors of the Tajuto are drawn from a bag and decrease in size per floor. Players will then have to combine the progression of their actions, but also estimate the probability of drawing a desired floor.
Added to this is a risk-taking element by betting on which temples will be completed and can earn spirituality points.
Tajuto is a subtle cocktail of tactics, risk-taking, and betting, spiced up by tactile recognition.
