Shy Monsters is an asymmetrical bluffing game where one player builds a dungeon and the other tries to escape. On one side, the dungeon master successively builds 3 floors within which they hide their monsters. On the other, the hero uses special actions and insight to try to reach the exit, alive. The bluff mainly revolves around the specific placement requirements of each monster. To overcome their shyness and become evil, each of them must be placed in their favorite spot: a corridor, a dead end, a crossroads, etc. The duel is therefore based on clever floor arrangement by the dungeon master and good dungeon deciphering by the hero. With only 15 tiles and 1 character, Shy Monsters fits into the trend of minimalist Japanese games: a small box, maximum possibilities.
