Patchwork Express takes the basics of Patchwork and simplifies them. It is designed more specifically for children (but not exclusively) and features larger tiles and smaller numbers.
This Express version of Patchwork will make it even easier to quickly play a game. If you know Patchwork, you already know how to play Patchwork Express. There are simply a few small differences:
- At the start of the game, only the colored (non-blue) pieces with a round label are placed in a circle around the board.
- The blue pieces with a square label are brought into play when there are only 5 pieces left in the circle. They are placed before the neutral pawn.
- There are 6 leather pieces to place on the Time Board.
- There is no 7×7 bonus tile (or any other bonus).
The other game rules remain unchanged compared to classic Patchwork.
