Where could Évreux be? East or west of Foix? And the Dune du Pilat, north or south? If you know the map of France well, you'll have no trouble placing locations in relation to each other. Otherwise, here's a fun way
In Oùcédonc, you'll need to rank location cards according to their geographical position, on a north-south or east-west axis. Players earn tokens by making the fewest mistakes and by spotting errors made by their opponents.
A card is drawn and placed in the center of the table; this is the starting card. In turn, the player draws a card and places it along the north-south or east-west axis that passes through the starting card.
Then, the next player in turn draws a card from the pile and decides whether to place it above, below, to the left, or to the right, or between two already placed cards.
If all players think the played card is correctly placed, then it's the next player's turn. However, if one of the players thinks the new Location card is misplaced (too far west or too far east on the east-west axis, too far north or too far south on the north-south axis), they flip over the card that has just been placed, as well as a neighboring card of their choice.
The coordinates of the card that has just been placed are then compared to those of the chosen neighboring card. The others are not taken into account. On the back of each card are the coordinates (longitude and latitude) of the location. If a player was right to doubt the card's position, they receive a token from the player who placed the card. This card is then removed from the game.
If a player was wrong to doubt the card's position, they give one of their tokens to the player who placed it. The card remains in play. Both cards are flipped back so that only the names of the locations are readable again.
