What if you went on a cruise on a liner? What if you felt the gentle sway of the waves and breathed in the salty air?
That's what 300 passengers did in 2019, embarking on a gaming cruise! And what did they find as a welcome gift in their cabin? A two-player board game called "Bienvenue à bord" (Welcome Aboard). Designed by the Kaedema team, made up of talented game creators (Antoine Bauza, Corentin Lebrat, Ludovic Maublanc, and Théo Rivière), this game was so popular that the publisher, Capitaine Meeple, decided to create a version for game stores, "On board!"
Each player is the captain of a ship and tries to satisfy their travelers as best as possible.
In turn, 3 cards are revealed, placed in a stack of two and one single card. The opponent chooses which of the two stacks they take, then it's their turn to draw, and so on.
Cabin cards allow you to open cabins in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class, and to upgrade cabins with beautiful views, a bar, etc.
Passenger cards bring travelers to be settled in the cabins, but respect their wishes or you will have unhappy customers!
As the game progresses, you check boxes on your dashboard, while trying to achieve your objectives.
Every 5 cards, a stage allows for a chosen scoring. At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins.
