You play as one of these painters, seeking fame and inspiration from the Muses of Montmartre.
In turn, the active player can perform one of two possible actions.
Paint: They place a card of the chosen value in front of them, or two cards if their sum is equal to or less than 5. The player then chooses one of the three piles and draws to have 4 cards in hand. As an optional action, they can sell one or more cards of the same color for one franc per card.
Sell: They can sell a card to a collector if they have the majority, either in value or number of cards, in the painting style in question, and if Ambroise Vollard, the art dealer, is not next to the collector. If both conditions are met, the player discards the card of highest value and retrieves the desired Collector Card before moving Ambroise Vollard to where the sale took place. As an optional action, once per game, it is possible to take one of the available contracts, earning points for the player who acquires it. The game ends when a player has 15 francs or when two piles of Collector Cards are exhausted. The player with the most points becomes the most renowned painter of the moment!
