In the game Les Toits de Paris, you are one of the Magpies, a legendary band of thieves who thrive on the rooftops of Paris. At dawn, the Magpies fly from building to building, breaking into the most beautiful apartments in the City of Light, and daring each other to steal valuables and works of art.
The more objects of the same type a thief possesses, the more prestige they have in the gang of thieves. So beware of your sidekicks, they are also your opponents, and also beware of Detective Nightingale who can surprise you in the middle of a heist.
Les Toits de Paris is a card game combining a push-your-luck mechanic and a card collection system.
Each player's turn is divided into two phases: the stealing phase and the sharing phase. The active player draws a card and places it on the leftmost free space of the board. The player can continue to draw cards or stop and move to the sharing phase.
During the stealing phase, be careful not to be caught by Detective Nightingale, who will end your turn and you will not get any cards during the sharing phase. Know when to stop before it's too late.
During the sharing phase, depending on when you stop drawing, you can take between 1 and 4 cards. If there are cards left on the board, the other players must take one. Be careful, some cards are under surveillance. If you have 3 cards with an alarm of the same color... You discard all cards of that color.
Simple, fast and fun, the board game Les Toits de Paris is enjoyable to play thanks to its accessibility and, of course, its magnificent illustrations.
