From the ramparts of Edinburgh to the docks of Constantinople, from the dusty alleyways of Pamplona to the frozen quays of St. Petersburg’s grand station, Ticket to Ride Europe takes you on a journey to discover Europe in the 1900s.

Will you jump aboard the first train ready to plunge into the tunnels of the Carpathians? Or will you board a ferry on the shores of the Black Sea? Or will you simply prefer to build the next station in one of Europe's capitals? Choose wisely, for your reputation as a Railroad Baron will depend on these choices!

Ticket to Ride Europe is the second volume in our celebrated Ticket to Ride series, awarded in Germany, France, and Japan. More than just a new map, this version incorporates new routes (tunnels and ferries) and new game pieces, the stations. New, large format playing cards complete this first-class treatment. Like its predecessor, Ticket to Ride, which to date has sold over 320,000 copies worldwide, the game remains simple, elegant, and easy to learn. Ticket to Ride Europe is a new game that does not require the first version.

If you are unfamiliar with this game and have never played the original Ticket to Ride, we still recommend starting with the initial version of the game. But if you want to board our train to cross Europe, here's what you'll discover once on board.

New material: A map of Europe in 1900, and the corresponding destination tickets. New, larger cards, compatible with the first version, and with new illustrations. New pieces: the stations. A new access code to play online, with, of course, the online version of Ticket to Ride Europe coming very soon.

Rule changes: Long destination tickets are now given to each player at the start of the game. There are 6 of them. If players decide not to keep these tickets, they are then removed from the game for the rest of the game. Ferries: crossing the seas surrounding Europe has a cost. Each ferry requires at least the use of one locomotive card, as indicated on the tracks. Tunnels: mountains are quickly crossed as long as one uses tunnels. Venturing into a tunnel is risky. When trying to cross a tunnel, the player first plays the number of cards of the required color. Then they turn over the top three cards from the Wagon card deck: For each card thus revealed that is of the same color as the cards used to cross the tunnel, the player must now add a new Wagon card of the same color. Once these are played, the player can take possession of the tunnel.

Stations: this is first a new game piece but also another possible action on your turn. Each station can be built on a city, to be able to use, at the end of the game, an opponent's line to complete their destinations. Stations are very useful when you find yourself completely blocked, especially on the Europe map, which is more difficult than the first American version. However, each unused station earns its owner 4 points at the end of the game.
