L'Année des 5 Empereurs (The Year of the 5 Emperors) is a deck-building game combining conquests, interactions, and opportunities. It features two phases: a rather classic deck-building phase, followed by a more original confrontation phase.
Your goal: Become emperor by being the first to fulfill 4 objectives. Objectives are achieved by acquiring cards and positioning your legions on the Empire's provinces. Several strategies are possible; it's up to you to find the one that best suits the emperor you wish to become!
You are high-ranking Roman dignitaries, and you will clash to become the sole and unique emperor of Rome. Prepare your ascent to power by purchasing cards to build your network of influence (deck). Choose the opportune moment to declare yourself emperor. Then deploy your legions to confront the other pretenders and win objectives. But be careful, as most objectives can be stolen from you during the game! The first pretender to control 4 objectives simultaneously will become the sole emperor of Rome...
