In L.A.M.A., you want to shed cards from your hand as quickly as possible, but you may not be able to play what you want. You'll need to manage risk: is it better to draw in hopes of continuing to play and eliminate more cards, or should you stop and limit penalties?
Each player starts a round with six cards in hand; the deck consists of llama cards and numbered cards from 1 to 6, with eight copies of each. On a turn, the active player can play a card, draw a card, or quit the game. To play a card, you must play the same number as the top card of the discard pile or a higher number. If a 6 is on the discard pile, you can play a 6 or a llama, and if a llama is on top, you can play another llama or a 1. If you quit, you place your remaining cards face down and take no further action in the round.
The round ends when a player empties their hand or all players have quit the game. In both cases, players collect tokens based on the cards in front of them, whether in hand or on the table. Each card of different numbers in hand gives you white tokens (worth 1 point each) equal to the card's value, while one or more llamas give you a black token (worth 10 points). If you have played all your cards, you can return a token (white or black) that you previously collected to the supply. You then shuffle all the cards and start a new round.
The game ends the round in which at least one player has a total of 40 points or more. The player with the fewest points wins!
