Thanks to the very peculiar flames they breathe, artisan dragons specialize in the most diverse creations, from the most useful to the prettiest or most delicious. These little artisans are highly prized by merchants, who seek to attract and delight their customers with the wonders born from their flames.
In the game Flamecraft, you are a Flamekeeper, skilled in the art of conversing with dragons, placing them in their ideal habitat, and using enchantments to help them produce fabulous things.
Your reputation will grow as you assist dragons and merchants, and the most renowned Flamekeeper will be awarded the title of Master of Flames.
From 1 to 5 players take on the role of Flamekeepers, gathering items, placing dragons, and casting enchantments to improve the city's shops. Dragons are specialized (bread, meat, iron, crystal, plant, and potion), and Flamekeepers know which shops are best for each of them. Visit a shop to get items and a favor from one of the dragons there. Collected items can be used to enchant a shop, gain reputation, and earn the favor of all the dragons in that shop. If you're lucky enough to attract fancy dragons, you'll have the opportunity to gain even more reputation!
Your goal is to become the most renowned and skilled Flamekeeper in the city! Boost your Reputation by visiting Shops to place Artisan Dragons, cast Enchantments, and fulfill the secret objectives of your Fancy Dragons. Players take turns clockwise, starting with the First Player.
On their turn, a player must visit a new Shop, then choose whether to collect Goods or cast an Enchantment there. The game continues until either the Artisan deck or the Enchantment deck is empty (see End of Game, p.13).
At the end of the game, the player in the lead on the Reputation Track wins.
