In Farben, every color tells a story. Match a color to a word, then tell a story explaining your choice.
For example, with the word "school," Felix chooses purple: "I dyed my hair, bought leather clothes, and wore makeup during my 'gothic' phase. I quickly realized I didn't belong in that world."
Similarly, the other players then associate a color of their choice with the same word and tell their story.
In each round, you match one of your 12 Color cards to a word and begin to tell a story. After all the stories have been told, each player places their color under the Word card and the stack is set aside.
After ten Word cards, the scoring phase begins. Another player chooses a stack of cards for you, and you must remember the colors played by the other players without looking at the contents of the stack. This seems impossible at first, but thanks to the stories, the colors become easier to recall.
