Dékal, an addictive game with no downtime!
In the game Dékal, you will try to arrange your cards as best as possible to score the fewest points. But beware, your opponents or a lack of anticipation can disrupt your entire strategy!
Game rules:
You start with 16 face-down cards which you arrange in a 4 x 4 square grid. You will not play with the remaining cards.
Now, let the 16 rounds of play begin!
In each round, you and your opponents choose a face-down card from your own grid and flip it face-up, in the middle of the table, at the same time.
Starting with the first player and continuing clockwise, each player then chooses one of the cards from the middle of the table, which they place in their grid.
To make this placement, they must push (slide) the card into a row or column to fill an empty space and rebuild the 4 by 4 grid. It is therefore not possible to slide cards diagonally, nor to place a card directly into an empty slot.
The game ends when all cards have been revealed and played, and then scores are counted. All orthogonally adjacent cards with the same number cancel each other out and are removed from the game. Each player counts the values of the remaining cards in their grid. The player with the lowest score wins the game.
